I had a wisdom tooth out yesterday.  You hear many horror stories about wisdom teeth, however I have not had much pain from mine and the extraction was easy.  The pain I did have was only recently, and this was because the tooth in question cracked the molar next to it leaving a gap. As soon as I started to have pain the dentist decided to do something about it. We agreed to remove the wisdom tooth rather than the molar, which had been the original plan.

I was not looking forward to the procedure and did a lot of tapping beforehand on certain aspects that I found scary.  This helped a great deal, and the actual removal took less than two minutes.  The main problem I had was later in the evening and all of today; I have felt completely ‘out of it’, I have crashed out on the sofa all day, dozing off now and again with a general feeling of apathy and overwhelm.  I’m not sure if it is the effect of the local anesthesia or my body feeling some trauma from the pulling of my tooth, or both, I just have a total lack of energy, feeling completely drained.

This is not new to me, I am aware that when I overdo things or there is a stress to my body in some way I react in a similar way.  Maybe you have noticed this.  Even if you don’t feel that you have exerted yourself much your body reacts as if it has.  This is one of the symptoms of high sensitivity, your body is processing everything to such a degree that it leaves you feeling drained.

There are many ways to counter this, I can work with you to help you find your ways of managing sensitivity.  One of the most important steps is accepting that your body does have limitations at times and respecting that.
